The
Castle of Xàtiva has its origin in an Iberian and Roman
watch tower, which was converted intro a fortress by the Arabs
later on.

With
the Christian conquest it became a part of the Crown
of Aragon, becoming a prison of the estate because
of its safety and impregnability.
Illustrious prisoners were held
in its holding cells, perhaps the most renowned was
Jaume of Aragon Count of Urgell, whose sepulchre is
in the Chapel of Santa Maria |
In the Plaza de Armas there is a core of
constructions from the beginning of the 20th Century where
our establishment is located
